The state wetlands conservation plan is to provide the method by which Louisiana will achieve "no net wetland loss" due to development. Approval of the plan would result in a revised cost share ( 85% federal / 15% non-federal, and 90% federal / 10-% non-federal for priority lists 5 and 6). Preliminary draft and public hearings were completed in Feb. 97 (28th). The final plan was submitted to ASA, EPA, and DOI for approval may 97 (22nd); agency approval of the plan reached Sept. 97.
