  • This data set consists of (Project Area, Reference Area1, and Reference Area2) digital data describing wetland and upland habitats for the Grand Bayou and Reference Project for the year 2000. The habitat data were derived from interpretation of color infrared photography flown at 1:24000. Wetlands were classified according to the Cowardin, et al., classification scheme, to the level of salinity modifiers. Uplands were classified according to the Anderson, et al., classification scheme. The interpreted habitat data were then scanned, and on-screen clean up was conducted to ensure quality of the digital data

  • This data set consists of mosaicked color infrared 2000 aerial photography for the CWPPRA project, Grand Bayou/GIWW Freshwater Diversion (TE-10). The data are used as base map data for either land/water analysis and/or habitat change analysis. The imagery also serves as a visual tool for project managers to assit them in land loss or any obvious problems within the project boundary.
Wetland Value Assessment
  • Project Area (acres): 16164
  • Average Annual Habitat Units*: 165
  • Acres Created / Restored: 0
  • Acres Protected: 199
  • Total Net Acres: 199

* Habitat Units represent a numerical combination of habitat quality (Habitat Suitability Index) and habitat quantity (acres) within a given area at a given point in time. Average Annual Habitat Units represent the average number of Habitat Units within any given year over the project life for a given area.
