Two days of expert presentations on the current oil spill crisis. Speakers include: Ed Overton on pollution impacts; Julius Langlinais and Tad Patzek on what went wrong and why; Mark Benfield on deep water impacts; David Dismukes and Dek Terrell on economic impacts; Craig Colten on coastal community impacts; Steve Sears on the impacts on the future of offshore drilling; Greg Stone on coastal impacts; Kevin Carman and John Pardue on wetland impacts; Mike Wascom on the legal impact and strategies; Chip Groat on the impacts to Texas; Jim Welsh and John Johnston on regulatory impacts and strategies; Lou Buatt on the impact on and strategies for the Louisiana Coastal Zone ; columnist J.R. Ball on the business impacts; and famous Louisiana political commentator John Maginnis on the political impacts and strategies. Registration is $75 for the general public and $50 with an academic ID (faculty, staff or student); lunch for both days is included.
