Youth Wetands Week: Hashtag Competition

Wetlands Week 2015 is THIS WEEK - April 20-24th! This week is the highlight of the 4-H Youth Wetlands Program's year-round efforts to raise awareness about the importance of Louisiana's wetlands. Join us during Wetlands Week to celebrate our state's most valuable treasure!

How to GO WILD FOR WETLANDS WEEK:

  1. Choose a lesson from the 4-H Youth Wetlands Program Curriculum Binder. You can also find new animal-themed lessons on the website: www.lsuagcenter.com/yww.
    1. Teachers' Top Picks:
      1. Grades 3-5: Arthropod Adventure, Crawfish 101, No Bones About It

      2. Grades 6-8: Arthropod Analysis, Symbiotic Relationships

      3. Grades 9-12: Biodiversity Blackjack, Home is where the Habitat Is

  2. Post a picture of your class engaged in a wetland lesson, wetland field trip, or wetland service project on Instagram or Facebook

  3. Tag your picture with hashtag #4HYWP

  4. Each day during Wetlands Week, one winner will be randomly chosen from #4HYWP tagged pictures. Winners will choose among several prizes for their classroom that will further increase student engagement on wetland topics.
