Grand Bayou Ridge and Marsh Restoration

PROJECT LOCATION:

Barataria Basin, Plaquemines Parish, Southeast of Lake Hermitage along the western bank of Grand Bayou

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

The project includes 249 acres of marsh creation/nourishment and 8,740 linear fee (9 acres) of ridge restoration.

PROJECT STATUS: (Project Status Last Updated: 20-Aug-2024 )

The project was approved for Phase 2 in January 2023. A construction contract was awarded to Weeks Marine in June 2024. Construction is scheduled to begin in September 2024.

FUND STATUS:

The current project estimate is $51,174,431 , which includes $50,381,006 for construction first costs, and $303,891 and $489,534 for 20 years of monitoring and operations and maintenance, respectively.
