Dedicated Dredging on the Barataria Basin Landbridge

PROJECT LOCATION:

The project is located in Jefferson Parish at the southern end of Bayou Perot and Rigolettes.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

The project was originally designed to create approximately 1,246 acres of marsh using hydraulically dredged material from Bayous Perot and Rigolettes. With additional funding sources, the project was expanded to 2,789 acres.

PROJECT STATUS: (Project Status Last Updated: 19-Feb-2021 )

This project was completed in 2010. It is in the OM&M phase and monitoring activities are ongoing.

FUND STATUS:

The current project estimate is $15,958,798 , which includes $15,651,507 for construction first costs, and $273,247 and $34,044 for 20 years of monitoring and operations and maintenance, respectively.
