PROJECT STATUS REPORT as of 21-Nov-2024

White Ditch Resurrection and Outfall Management DEAUTHORIZED

PROJECT LOCATION:

The project is located in Plaquemines Parish, River aux Chenes Mapping Unit, White Ditch.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

The goal of the project is to reduce the erosion rate by introduction of freshwater, nutrients, and to lesser degree sediment into interior marshes. The proposed solution is (1) gated plug in the outfall channel (approximately 2 miles below siphon) to force water to enter interior marshes and (2) install additional siphon of same size (existing - two 50-inch diameter steel pipes currently allow approximately 250 cfs).

PROJECT STATUS: (Project Status Last Updated: 11-Jul-2012 )

Project team has agreed to move to deauthorization due to issues regarding location & operation of siphon.

FUND STATUS:

The current project estimate is $1,020,420 , which includes $1,020,420 for construction first costs, and $0 and $0 for 20 years of monitoring and operations and maintenance, respectively.
