Freshwater Bayou Wetland Protection
PROJECT LOCATION:
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The project features include the installation of 10,000 linear feet of rock breakwater (rip-rap) along the west shoreline of Freshwater Bayou Canal, where needed, to protect this shoreline from further erosion; and the installation of gated water control structures on the Acadiana Marina Canal to reduce ponding in the area known as the Freshwater Bayou Wetlands.

FUND STATUS:
The current project estimate is $6,126,685 , which includes $1,329,340 for construction first costs, and $896,043 and $3,901,302 for 20 years of monitoring and operations and maintenance, respectively.
