PROJECT STATUS REPORT as of 21-Nov-2024

Little Pecan Bayou Hydrologic Restoration DEAUTHORIZED

PROJECT LOCATION:

This project is located east of the Mermentau River in Cameron Parish, LA.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

The project encompasses approximately 24,600 acres of fresh to brackish marsh habitat. The project components include water control structures, conveyence channels, and terraces.

PROJECT STATUS: (Project Status Last Updated: 11-Jul-2012 )

Project was deauthorized at Spring 2012 Task Force meeting for the following reasons: • The current ME-17 project features do not yield sufficient wetland benefits to warrant a Phase II request for construction and twenty years of maintenance. • Within the current project scope, the CPRA has concerns over public vandalism.

FUND STATUS:

The current project estimate is $1,303,713 , which includes $1,220,273 for construction first costs, and $83,440 and $0 for 20 years of monitoring and operations and maintenance, respectively.
