PROJECT LOCATION:
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Located along Lake Pontchartrain, the project will reduce emergent marsh loss along the shoreline by restoring and creating 489 acres through marsh terracing, shoreline protection and vegetative planting.
PROJECT STATUS: (Project Status Last Updated: 26-Jul-2001 )
Cooperative Agreement was awarded September 21, 2000. Engineering and design complete. Construction is scheduled for 2002. Task Force approved Phase 2 funding at January 10, 2001 meeting. In a letter dated September 7, 2001, NMFS returned Phase 2 funding because of waning landowner support. Deauthorization is not requested at this time.
FUND STATUS:
The current project estimate is $306,836 , which includes $305,266 for construction first costs, and $1,570 and $0 for 20 years of monitoring and operations and maintenance, respectively.
