Lake Borgne Shoreline Protection

PROJECT LOCATION:

Lake Borgne Shoreline at Shell Beach and Bayou Dupre, St. Bernard Parish, LA.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

Construction of a nearshore rock breakwater for shoreline protection in Lake Borgne at Shell Beach and Bayou Dupre.

PROJECT STATUS: (Project Status Last Updated: 01-Aug-2022 )

Maintenance event was performed in 2021. The objective of the project was to remove portions of the sheet pile wall that were damaged and to enhance the splice hardware on the portions of the wall that were intact. Also included in the project was the replacement of two tie rods and one steel tube waler splice on the double steel sheet pile structure.

FUND STATUS:

The current project estimate is $27,398,125 , which includes $20,292,870 for construction first costs, and $26,711 and $7,078,544 for 20 years of monitoring and operations and maintenance, respectively.
