Ship Shoal: Whiskey West Flank Restoration DEAUTHORIZED

PROJECT LOCATION:

Western end of Whiskey Island of the Isles Dernieres Chain of Barrier Islands, Terrebonne Parish, LA

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

Mine and transport sand approximately 8 miles from the "Ship Shoal" offshore sand body to rebuild dunes and marsh platform.

PROJECT STATUS: (Project Status Last Updated: 21-Jan-2013 )

Phase 2 funding was reqeusted, but not recommended, at the December 2012 Technical Committee Meeting. Sponsors will determine whether future Phase 2 requests will be made.

FUND STATUS:

The current project estimate is $2,298,822 , which includes $2,290,609 for construction first costs, and $8,213 and $0 for 20 years of monitoring and operations and maintenance, respectively.
