Madison Bay Marsh Creation and Terracing INACTIVE

PROJECT LOCATION:

The Madison Bay Marsh Creation and Terracing Project (herein referred to as TE-51) is located in the Terrebonne Basin north of the Madison Canal between Wonder Lake and the Bayou St. Jean Charles Ridge.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

The project features include the creation of approximately 470 acres of emergent marsh within 4 polygons (using bay borrow), and construct 25,000 LF of earthen terraces immediately west of the marsh creation area to provide protection from wind generated waves.

PROJECT STATUS: (Project Status Last Updated: 12-May-2014 )

NMFS intends to seek Phase 2 authorization in December 2014.

FUND STATUS:

The current project estimate is $1,783,480 , which includes $1,783,480 for construction first costs, and $0 and $0 for 20 years of monitoring and operations and maintenance, respectively.
