CWPPRA
Regional Planning Team Meeting Reminder
The CWPPRA Regional Planning Teams (RPT) will conduct hybrid meetings (in-person with an option for virtual participation) for presentation of project proposals to be considered for the 33rd Priority Project List (PPL 33). All proposals consistent with the state’s 2017 and/or (draft) 2023 Coastal Master Plan will be considered as possible nominees for the PPL 33 evaluation process. A lead agency will be assigned to each nominated project to develop fact sheets after the meetings. If you would like guidance on developing projects consistent with the master plan, contact Kent Bollfrass of the Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority (CPRA) by email at kent.bollfrass@la.gov. Suggested considerations for proposal development include: cost-effectiveness, synergy with other restoration projects, addressing critical areas of need, providing landbridge function and structural framework, and critical infrastructure protection.
RPT Presentation Requirements:
Those who wish to secure a spot on the agenda for their project proposal can fill out the PPL 33 project nomination form located in the announcements at: https://www.mvn.usace.army.mil/Missions/Environmental/CWPPRA/ and send it to Elizabeth.Jarrell@usace.army.mil by 1 February 2023. Please note that proposal presentations* must be less than five minutes in length with no more than five slides per project proposal.
Though not required, fact sheets and presentations are recommended to accompany your nomination form. Any factsheets submitted by the deadline will be posted online for reference during the meetings. Although virtual presentations will be allowed, those planning to present proposals are encouraged to attend the RPT meetings in person if possible.
* Note: proposed construction costs including contingency should be presented in $5M range increments: $0-$5M, $5M-$10M, etc. It is also recommended that proposals include project vicinity maps.
A coastwide electronic vote will occur on February 23, 2023 to select up to 22 nominees for Technical Committee approval. Details of the PPL 33 Planning Process can be found under Project Priority Lists at: http://www.mvn.usace.army.mil/Missions/Environmental/CWPPRA
