The CWPPRA Task Force met virtually on January 23, 2025 to select projects for CWPPRA's 34th Priority Project List and Phase II Construction. The Task Force approved the Technical Committee's recommendation of combining the Phase I Engineering and Design evaluation of South Isle de Jean Charles Landbridge Increment and Eastern Terrebonne Landbridge Marsh Creation Increment 1. The Task Force also approved combining the Phase I Engineering and Design evaluation of the Wood Lake Marsh Creation & Terracing and East Lake Lery Shoreline Restoration projects. In addition, the Grand Chenier Marsh Creation & Terracing project was approved for PPL 34 Phase I Engineering & Design.
The decision to combine the projects in an expanded Phase 1 Engineering & Design effort will allow CWPPRA's Planning and Evaluation Subcommittee to collect additional data from both areas and determine the optimal project location.
The Task Force also approved Port Fourchon Marsh Creation (TE-171) and North Delacroix Marsh Creation & Terracing (BS-41) for Phase II Construction. The Bay Racourcci Marsh Creation & Ridge Restoration (TE-156) was also approved for conditional Phase II Construction should sufficient funds be available by the spring Technical Committee meeting.
