The Louisiana Coastal Wetlands Conservation and Restoration Task Force is initiating
procedures to transfer the Central Terrebonne Freshwater Enhancement (TE-66)
project from the Coastal Wetlands Planning, Protection, and Restoration Act
(CWPPRA) Program to the Planning of the Bayou Dularge Ridge, Marsh & Hydrologic
Restoration (RESTORE Dularge) project, which is funded by the Resources and
Ecosystems Sustainability, Tourist Opportunities and Revived Economies of the Gulf
Coast States Act (RESTORE Act). This transfer is being considered based on the
request from the TE-66 Local Project sponsor, the Coastal Protection and Restoration
Authority of Louisiana (CPRA), per their letter of October 31, 2016 and with concurrence
of the project’s Federal sponsor, the Natural Resources Conservation Service. The
RESTORE Dularge project incorporates goals and objectives, if not the actual features,
of the CWPPRA TE-66 project. Transfer of the TE-66 project from CWPPRA to
RESTORE Dularge allows any unused CWPPRA funds to be returned to the CWPPRA
program for other use. The TE-66 project, from CWPPRA’s 18 th Priority Project List, is
located in Terrebonne Parish in the vicinity of Grand Pass, Lake Mechant, Rouccourci
Bay, and Lake De Cade and the adjacent central Terrebonne marshes in the
Terrebonne Basin.
The Task Force will consider the request to transfer the TE-66 project contingent upon
any written comments received. Written comments should be provided by January 13,
2017 to the following address:
Colonel Michael N. Clancy
District Commander
U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District
Projects and Restoration Branch, CWPPRA Program Manager
7400 Leake Avenue
New Orleans, Louisiana 70118
If you need further information, please contact Mr. Mark Wingate, Deputy District
Engineer for Project Management, at (504) 862-2204 or Mr. Brad Inman, CWPPRA
Program Manager, at (504) 862-2124.
